Most of my professional consulting has been done through Computational Hydraulics Int.(CHI), established in 1978 for professional engineering consulting. CHI is a certified, authorized consulting engineering office offering services exclusively to professional engineers, especially consultants, for the development of hydraulic and hydrologic software, the production of textbooks and conference proceedings, and information transfer through international seminars, workshops, and conferences.

CHI has been particularly involved with the SWMM model from its inception in the 1970's; organizing SWMM seminars and User Group conferences, developing the first PC version of the program, PCSWMM3, and distributing it widely in Canada, the USA and overseas. German and Spanish versions of PCSWMM3 were also developed by local consultants working in collaboration with CHI. PCSWMM3 in turn formed the basis of the USEPA SWMM4. CHI has a close liaison with Oregon State University (Wayne Huber), and with Willing and Partners in Australia who developed XPSWMM. In 1992 CHI developed PCSWMM4, a user-friendly shell for SWMM4, and in October 1994 this was converted to a Windows platform, with tools for sensitivity, calibration and error analysis. PCSWMM has some 400 users including some 80 universities and in about 10 countries. CHI is firmly committed to further SWMM development.
