Vocabulary and other list acknowledgements
Compiler's note
This vocabulary is offered as a general, comprehensive glossary, together with a brief listing of common acronyms and computer models, for the disciplines of engineering hydrology and hydraulics, with particular reference to stormwater quality modeling. I have tried to give credit for quotations by listing sources at the end, but much of this material was first used in courses many years ago, and collected from everywhere. Many terms are supplied by the authors of the chapters in the series of proceedings from the Stormwater and Water Quality Management Modeling Conferences, listed at the end. In an academic environment we are not always as careful as we should be to note original sources. If quotations have appeared without giving due credit, I tender my humble apologies - and thanks. All additions, suggestions and corrections are warmly welcomed; please send these to me at your convenience.
